How does Pricewatch work?
Upon booking any international flight with Cleartrip, Pricewatch keeps searching regularly for any fare drops on the itinerary you’ve booked. If the total fare is found to be lower than the one booked originally by more than the airline amendment fee, Pricewatch uses the amount the fare has dropped by, and any re-booking charges (if applicable) to compute the refund. This amount is refunded back to your bank / credit card account. All this happens automatically, without you having to check the fares again or follow up for a refund.
How is the refund calculated?
The refund amount is calculated as the net fare difference, after deducting the airline amendment fee:
Old fare - new fare – airline amendment fee = Net fare difference
If the net fare difference is less than zero (i.e. the fare drop is less than the airline amendment fee), you will not get any refund.
If the net fare difference is less than Rs 500, you’ll get a flat refund of Rs 500
If the net fare difference is greater than Rs 500, you’ll get the amount as per the above formula.
How do I ensure my itinerary is applicable for Pricewatch?
All international flights (at least one of the airports in the itinerary is outside India) are automatically checked for Pricewatch. You will receive an email from us once we have refunded you the difference, if the fare on your booked itinerary drops.
Please note that previously amended and partially cancelled international trips are not eligible for a Pricewatch refund.
Can I use the same e-ticket, if Pricewatch has refunded me the difference?
In some cases, if the fare on your itinerary drops below a particular threshold, we may rebook you on a cheaper fare class with the same flights and itinerary, and then refund the difference. In such cases, the Pricewatch email will contain the new e-ticket and PNR. Please use the new e-ticket for all communication with Cleartrip and the airline, as the older e-ticket and PNR will no longer be valid. All these details will be mentioned in the Pricewatch email.
Is this applicable for domestic bookings?
No, Pricewatch is applicable only for International flight bookings.
I got a refund through Pricewatch, and the fare dropped again.
Am I applicable for another refund?
Only 1 refund is applicable per booking, so in case the fare drops multiple times on a single itinerary, difference will be refunded only on the first instance that the fare drops.
